A side story to "To Forgive and Forget"
I really, really should get working on the main story (it's been close to a year since I've last updated it), but I'm at a lost on how to continue *sweatdrop* So, hopefully, if I finish this side story, then that'll give me some inspiration to continue on the main one.
I was originally going to put this into the main story as a part of a flashback sequence for Sanosuke to see, but I realized that it was going to be too long and would take up more than just a couple of chapters. So, anyhoo, this side story is my little version of Fushigi Yuugi with a few exeptions:
1) Miaka is replaced by Sagara Ukiyou, Sagara Sozo's little sister and Sanosuke's best "friend". Ukiyou is my main character in "To Forgive and Forget", and it's a little crossover (or is it? She's my character) as her being the Suzaku no Miko.
2) The world of the Shi Ji Ten Chou does not exist in a book. Rather, it's an island right smack dab in between Japan and Shanghai, China.
3) Unlike Miaka, who was fifteen at the start of the series, Ukiyou is seventeen years old, just two years before she meets Sanosuke again. Hence, the ages of the other Suzaku seishi are one year older than in the show with the exceptions of Chiriko, Mitsukake, and Chichiri:
Tamahome - 18
Hotohori - 19
Tasuki - 18
Nuriko - 19
4) The world is not set in ancient China. It's set in the Meiji era, just before Rurouni Kenshin begins. However, the island has never made contact with the outside world since it is hidden by Taiitsukuun's powers via my magic wand.
5) I'm not going to completely follow the storyline for Fushigi Yuugi. And Ukiyou isn't as helpless as Miaka was in the beginning. Just a warning ^^.
DISCLAIMERS: I don't own Rurouni Kenshin or Fushigi Yuugi, so don't sue me! They belong to Nobuhiro Watsuki, Jump Comics, Sony (and whtaever major companies are there) for Rurouni Kenshin and Watase Yuu, Flower Comics, Pioneer, Studio Pierrot, and whatnot for Fushigi Yuugi. If I did own them, then I wouldn't be writing this fic now, would I? The only character I own is Ukiyou, so if you want to use her, ask me first!
